Illustraa's first shows included the NSW Association's All Arabian Show where he won a very strong yearling colt class and was awarded Champion Colt with a workout which showed his powerful movement and superior type.
His show career since has been a story of success after success, with Champion and Supreme awards at major shows under both Australian and International judges.
His wins, to name just a few, include NSW Futurity Champion Colt, Champion Stallion Inland Championships, Supreme Hunter Valley, Supreme Crabbet Show (several times), Supreme Arabian Exhibit Sydney Royal for three consecutive years and twice winner of the Queen of Sheba Champion of Champions award.
Whilst these great victories have all been exciting achievements, fate was to decree that two of the most prestigious awards one could hope to win would overshadow them all!
The year of 1998 is one that Ray and I will never forget. In this momentous year Kyremi Illustraa was named East Coast Champion Stallion, followed by the ultimate victory in Brisbane, where he was crowned 1998 Australian National Champion Arabian Stallion.
Illustraa loves people and is an extremely kind and gentle horse, even though he possesses an awesome presence which has created a great following of Arabian enthusiasts. Anyone who was present at the 1997 Victorian Classic, where he was awarded Reserve Champion Stallion, or the 1998 East Coast Championships, will remember the spine-tingling impact this horse had on the crowd which, backing him every inch of the way, chanted his name.
