Imprint's story begins on a wet night, 19 th September 1992 when his lovely dam Princess Lukizzi (Imp. U.K. ) foaled at 1.00 a.m. His birth had been eagerly awaited and he was supposed to be a filly!
The rain stopped but the ground was slippery. Ray, disgruntled by a colt, (but not for long) announced he was going back to bed “for a little while”. I was not going anywhere – I was staying with our beautiful new baby. Looking at him now it's hard to believe I carried him back up to the top of the foaling paddock three or four times after his many attempts of getting to his feet on the slippery ground failed.
Imprint spent a carefree six months at his dam's side and was an extremely energetic and agile baby often astounding us by galloping flat out around his paddock, even on days where the temperature was 40 degrees and over, dodging trees and grazing mares doing his best to imitate a Kamikazi Phar Lap! Hard to believe now as he is so laid back and casual. He then took weaning in his stride. He always was, and still is, the perfect gentleman.
An impressive son of the famous, big moving ARJAI SUMMITT, Imprint is a grandson of Australia's own legend Supreme International Champion RALVON PILGRIM and a great grandson of the famous, much loved and admired FADJUR (USA).
Imprint's dam, Princess Lukizzi (Imp. UK) (Fadli (USA) x Lutafa) came to us in her fifteenth year and as well as Imprint she has given us a full brother in blood by 1998 Australian National Champion Stallion Kyremi Illustraa “River Oak Protégé” a successful show and breeding sire; a full brother “River Oak Prestige” 1998 Australian National Champion Colt and 1998 National Arabian Stud Show Reserve Champion Ridden Junior and at the 2005 Australian National Championships he was awarded Australian Reserve National Champion Ridden Stallion and Top Ten Halter Stallion (owned by The Prestige Partnership) and tragically now deceased; and a full sister “River Oak Riverdance” who, although never shown, is a valuable member of our brood mare band.
