AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL RESERVE CHAMPION ARABIAN STALLION

Tamerlane is a tall, athletic stallion with a lovely temperament and is very much a classy Arabian stallion oozing quality. He was bred by Mr. Grant Cockburn of Tallangatta Arabians and is by Australian National Champion Stallion Kyremi Illustraa and his dam is the very beautiful Tallangatta Hanifa (now sadly deceased) who is the dam of many top quality offspring including Tallangatta Tsar, Tallangatta Maroussia and River Oak Arpege. Tamerlane comes from very famous ancestry with prolific show and breeding horses on both sides of his pedigree. The “greats” from those two famous studs Arabian Park and Ralvon are his to boast!

Tamerlane was foaled at River Oak, where he has spent all of his life. With his outstanding quality and movement he was soon to become part of our show team and has been an extremely successful show horse winning many awards including being named the 2002 Reserve Australian National Champion Stallion!!

He was broken to saddle by Rob Horne, taking everything in his stride and was started under saddle by Adam Maitland placing his two first outings under saddle including the National Arabian Stud Horse Show where he displayed impeccable manners. Sadly, due to Adam's commitments elsewhere and Ray's sudden illness, Tamerlane's saddle career came to a standstill, which was a huge disappointment to all concerned. Ridden recently, after a two year break, he just went off as if no time had passed at all which is a great example of his superb temperament!

Standing a good 15.1 hands with extremely good movement which he is passing on to his progeny, Tamerlane is quality from top to toe. He loves a cuddle, carrots and looking out his window at all the “girls” as can be seen on this web site.

He is available for natural service or chilled, transported semen, to all breeds of mares.
